Dr. Southard, Jr.

Dr. Southard, Jr.

Veterinarian

Dr. Southard, Jr. grew up at Air Harbor Veterinary Clinic - literally! Always an independent thinker, he earned the honor of being an Eagle Scout when in high school. He did his undergraduate studies at the University of Georgia and graduated from veterinary school at Tuskegee University where he earned an Academic Performance Award. After graduating and becoming licensed in 1996, he returned to the family business and joined his father as a veterinarian. Presently, Dr. Southard Jr. is a member of the St. Andrews Rotary Club and sits on the Charleston County Planning Commission. In 1998, he and his wife Terri welcomed their triplets, Abby, Bailey and Jamie into the world. Their fourth child, Jordan, was born in 2002. They have 2 dogs at home, a peka-poo, Logan, and a cava-tzu, Georgia Mae.

Gina

Gina

Office Manager

Gina has been working in the veterinary field since 1982 and has been with AHVC since 2000. She has always had a strong passion for animals. Growing up in Warrenton, VA she was an avid equestrian and competed in Hunter/Jumper horse shows. Later, as an adult, she and our assistant office manager, Robin, became friends and partnered to become breeders and exhibitors of Labrador Retrievers in AKC conformation shows. They were blessed to have had a few of the top winning Labs in the nation at that time.

Gina grew up primarily in Virginia but also spent several years living in Germany and Iran as well. She married her husband, Charlie, and settled in Charleston in 1982. Together they have two children, Cole and Sydney, one grandson, Finley, and their sweet kitty, Pippa. Her family is her pride and joy.

Now-a-days, the majority of Gina and Charlie’s spare time is consumed with their greatest passion which is scuba diving. They love traveling and searching for the next great wreck, reef, or ocean to explore.

After all these years, Gina still loves working with animals and people as much as she did on her first day in the veterinary field.

Robin

Robin

Assistant Office Manager

Robin's love for animals began as a child and her love of veterinary medicine started as a teenager when she began working at Air Harbor Veterinary Clinic. In 2002, after 20 wonderful years here at the clinic, Robin and her husband, Gary, moved to Virginia where she continued her career path in the field of veterinary medicine. In 2018, after 16 years away, they moved back to Charleston. She still enjoys her career path and is very happy to be back "home" at Air Harbor Veterinary Clinic. In her spare time, you are most likely to find Robin spending time with her sweet boys, Curtis, a labrador retriever, and Gunny, her horse.

Katherine

Katherine

Born and raised in South Carolina, Katherine has always loved animals and began riding horses at a young age. While attending college in North Carolina, she continued riding and competing in hunter/jumpers. In 2010 Katherine graduated from St. Andrews Presbyterian College with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration specializing in Equine Studies. In 2012, after working with horses, she came back to the lowcountry and started working at Air Harbor Veterinary Clinic. Bruin, her German Shepherd, is an honorary employee who reports to the clinic every day with tons of enthusiasm. His duties include patrolling for cookies and safeguarding the kennel. Katherine also works part time as an EMT and loves spending free time with her husband and son.

Stephanie

Stephanie

Stephanie joined the Air Harbor family in the summer of 2021 after graduating from the University of Alabama, where she obtained her BS degree in Biological Sciences and Marine Science. She has dreams to work with marine mammals in her future, focusing specifically in marine mammal rehabilitation. Stephanie and her husband are currently stationed here in Charleston as her husband, Chris, completes his Naval Nuclear Submarine courses. Together they have a cat named Succi (sue-chee) and a kitten named Saba. They are excited for this new adventure and to be welcomed into the Air Harbor Clinic family.

Kat

Kat

Kat grew up in Charleston with aspirations of working in the medical field. She has fond memories of bringing her cats and dog to Air Harbor as a child. After a few years in the Upstate, she returned to Charleston and spent a decade working as an insurance and billing coordinator with her "human patients." She was excited to have the opportunity to join the team at Air Harbor Veterinary Clinic and follow her true passion of working with animals. She and her husband, Kragh, have three teenage sons. She enjoys spending her free time with them at their extracurricular activities, comic conventions, playing games as a family, and loving their guinea pigs, Chewie and Muriel.
