Dr. Southard, Jr.

Veterinarian

Dr. Southard, Jr. grew up around veterinary medicine working as a staff member for his father, Dr. Southard, Sr., at Air Harbor Veterinary Clinic, which influenced him to follow in his father’s footsteps. Upon graduating and becoming licensed in 1996, he joined his father at Air Harbor Veterinary Clinic as an associate, partner, and eventually, full owner of the practice upon his father’s retirement.

Dr. Southard, Jr. married his college sweetheart Terri, with whom he shares 4 adult children; triplets - Abigail, Jamie, and Bailey, born in 1998, and their youngest daughter, Jordan, born in 2002. His pets include Georgia Mae, a Cava-Tzu, and Logan, a Peka-Poo.

Dr. Southard, Jr. has previously served on the Charleston Planning Commission, and as a Rotarian. He is also an Eagle Scout and has served as a BSA Eagle Scout counselor. He holds 2 patents and in his spare time he enjoys his lapidary/jewelry creations, and guitar/songwriting.

Gina

Gina

Office Manager

Gina has been working in the veterinary field since 1982 and has been with AHVC since 2000. She has always had a strong passion for animals. Growing up in Warrenton, VA she was an avid equestrian and competed in Hunter/Jumper horse shows. Later, as an adult, she and our assistant office manager, Robin, became friends and partnered to become breeders and exhibitors of Labrador Retrievers in AKC conformation shows. They were blessed to have had a few of the top winning Labs in the nation at that time.

Now-a-days, the majority of Gina and Charlie’s spare time is consumed with their greatest passion which is scuba diving. They love traveling and searching for the next great wreck, reef, or ocean to explore.

Together they have two children, Cole and Sydney, a grandson, Finley, and a granddaughter, Charlotte. They have two furbaby kitties, Pippa and Posh.

After all these years, Gina still loves working with animals and people as much as she did on her first day in the veterinary field.

Robin

Robin

Assistant Office Manager

Robin's love for animals began as a child and her love of veterinary medicine started as a teenager when she began working at Air Harbor Veterinary Clinic. In 2002, after 20 wonderful years here at the clinic, Robin and her husband, Gary, moved to Virginia where she continued her career path in the field of veterinary medicine. In 2018, after 16 years away, they moved back to Charleston. She still enjoys her career path and is very happy to be back "home" at Air Harbor Veterinary Clinic. In her spare time, you are most likely to find Robin spending time with her sweet boys, Curtis, a labrador retriever, and Gunny, her horse.

Kat

Kat

Kat grew up in Charleston with aspirations of working in the medical field. She has fond memories of bringing her cats and dog to Air Harbor as a child. After a few years in the Upstate, she returned to Charleston and spent a decade working as an insurance and billing coordinator with her "human patients." She was excited to have the opportunity to join the team at Air Harbor Veterinary Clinic and follow her true passion of working with animals. She and her husband, Kragh, have three teenage sons.

Lauren

Lauren

Born in Charleston and raised in Ravenel, Lauren has always been a voice for the voiceless. She began her career in 2014 as an ER veterinary assistant, where she developed a deep passion for high-stakes animal care. Since joining the Air Harbor team in June 2024, Lauren has found her professional home in an environment that mirrors her own dedication to pet health. Her personal commitment to animals continues at home, where she cares for her Australian Shepherd, Chai, and her two cats, Voodoo and Wednesday.

Noelle

Noelle

Noelle has always possessed a deep passion for animals, with her heart set on a veterinary career from a young age. Shortly after moving to South Carolina, she began working at a local animal shelter, where she discovered her calling as an advocate and a 'voice for the voiceless.' To this day, she continues to volunteer her free time at the shelter. Noelle is excited to expand her medical knowledge at Air Harbor Veterinary Clinic while continuing her mission to help animals in need. At home, she is a proud pet parent to two dogs—Lily, a German Shepherd, and Auto, a Pit Bull—and a cat named Pickles. She also loves spending as much time as possible with her extended family’s pets.
